An Edmonton-based professional dance company BeLLavia dance company is over the moon about being invited to perform at the 15th annual Dubai Shopping Festival starting January 28th, 2010.(Dubai is one of the seven emirates of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It is located south of the Persian Gulf on the Arabian Peninsula) .

“I am so happy for the dancers. This is such a great opportunity,” said Lukas Cabalka, director and choreographer of the BeLLavia dance company, which specializes in world dance.

Cabalka said they are only the second Canadian company to be invited to perform for the festival, after the Quebec-based Cirque du Soleil.

Eight of the company’s dancers will be flying to Dubai to put on about 100 shows in 32 days. The month-long event kicks off Jan. 28 and offers store discounts, fashion shows, fireworks and performances by thousands of international artists, among other festivities.

Whether it be first time thespians as young as 3 years of age, or talented young actors on their way to a professional career, we look forward to working with all of you!
